Deconstructed Books

The art of deconstructing books came out of a Post Modern art movement that emphasized reuse of materials.  Simply put, it's the art of "altering" a book to give the illusion that something is emerging from the pages of an open book. In Visual Arts, the juniors were encouraged to experiment through ripping, cutting,  rolling, folding, gluing, taping, and even paper mache. They were given the option of an abstract or representational sculpture using one or a combination of these techniques. These are some of the solutions that came from the assignment! Next academic cycle you can see them in person in the BVT Media Center.
