On Friday October 31st, BVT's Spanish and Visual Arts departments joined forces to celebrate the Day of the Dead tradition with students. Day of the Dead is a Mexican holiday that celebrates family and friends who have passed on. Using the old gym, Ms. Moynihan, Ms. Ruzanski, and Ms. MacLure held an all day festival complete with crafts (sugar skulls, papel picado, and paper marigolds) authentic food from culinary, face painting by cosmo, contests and more. Students used these creations as offerings for the magnificent altar (built by carpentry) pictured below. All in all, it was a fantastic celebration for all classes who attended.
