The junior sculpture class spends a majority of their time experimenting with materials and conceptualizing ideas visually through 3 dimensional media. These wearable sculptures are a perfect example of their typical process. Using cultural adornment from around the world for inspiration, students were given the task of creating a sculpture that could be worn. Building them with unconventional material, while still complementing the part of the body it sat on was their ultimate challenge. However, students were given total freedom with material choice, execution, and body placement. These are the results! If we're lucky, maybe you'll see a couple of these beauties at prom!

Spotlight: Art School Prep
At BVT we have an abundance of budding artists. This year alone there were eight aspiring seniors who applied to art school. Art Club (or for some, Art School Prep) began last year as a place for students interested in attending art school to prepare their portfolios. For those who may not know, applying to art school is no easy feat! Each art school requires 15-20 pieces of art that showcase your ability or interests. Over the past couple of weeks the art room has been full with anticipation while these eight seniors await their decision letters. Throughout the year these eight students worked their hearts out in art club, art class, and at home to create the perfect representation of their artistic abilities. This blog post is to showcase all of their hard work as well as other tidbits they wanted to showcase. The pieces you'll see are their particular favorites that they wanted to share! They worked very hard, and we are proud of all of their achievements!
