When I introduced Vincent Van Gogh to the seniors in Art History they were surprised to hear that he wasn't just a madman that cut off his own ear. He was a passionate painter and loving brother. He was fiercely invested in bettering himself each and every day. This was something the students could relate to and they hit the ground running. We took his impressionistic techniques and applied them to self portraits creating mood and texture. These are works in progress, enjoy!

In Time for Halloween
We're coming to the end of our Tim Burton assignment here in Visual Arts. Here are some finished painted sculptures! In the style of Burton, students created some magnificent and even spooky pieces (just in time for Halloween). Please check these out in person at the BVT Media Center beginning Monday of next week. Thanks, as always, for checking us out!
