Spoon Portraits!

The art club has been hard at work building their portfolios for art school! Each week we think of projects that will help them stand out above the rest of applicants. This is a new idea: spoon portraits! Culinary was kind enough to lend us some spoons, and students drew their reflections! Here are a few of the more complete ones.

Fun with Books!

It's time for deconstructed books again! Thanks to the Media Center and Ms. Malo there was a surplus of books for juniors to choose from this year (discarded, don't worry!).  Deconstructed books came out of the post modern art movement of the 1960's. Ready-made art is the practice of taking mundane objects and changing their context. In this instance transforming a book into a piece of art! Please enjoy and check these out in the Media Center next week!
